The Swallow

The castle overlooks the Cape of Ai-Todor of the Black Sea and is located near the remnants of the Roman castrum of Charax. Swallow’s Nest is one of the most popular visitor attractions in Crimea, becoming the symbol of Crimea’s southern coastline. The Ukraine is no longer called “The Ukraine.” It’s just “Ukraine,” to the locals as well as to the tourists who flock to the beautiful beaches and mountain ski resorts.

The building is compact in size, measuring only 20 m (66 ft) long by 10 m (33 ft) wide. Its original design envisioned a foyer, guest room, stairway to the tower, and two bedrooms on two different levels within the tower.

The Ukraine is one of those areas of the world that has been frozen in time, but it’s melting into a vibrant and energetic culture that respects the past, but welcomes change in terms of attitude and social structure.

The interior of the guest room is decorated with wooden panels; the walls of the rest of the rooms are stuccoed and painted. An observation deck rings the building, providing a view of the sea, and Yalta’s distant shoreline.

The historic significance of this intriguing country is etched into the psyche of the diverse population, and that makes this nation a cultural melting pot as well as an exciting place to spend a holiday or a long sabbatical.
