Hiking on Oahu

Oahu has many great hikes to offer for every type of hiker. There are easy, flat hikes along various beaches and bays, jungle treks through large plants to hidden waterfalls, and steep climbs up the sides of volcanic craters or ridges with views of the entire island. While not especially technical, the Diamond Head Summit Trail is one of the more popular trails on the island for its proximity to Honolulu and its views of Waikiki. The Makupu’u lighthouse trail also offers amazing views of Waimanalo bay towards kailua.

Hike the trail to Manoa Falls will lead you past areas where they filmed Jurassic Park and Lost, ending at a stunning waterfall. For a real challenge (and an adrenaline rush) consider hiking/climbing up the Olomana Trail where you will have spectacular 360-degree views.
