San Francisco in Fog

Fog is a common and typical weather phenomenon in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as along the entire coastline of California.Iconic as the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco’s world-famous fog is both predictable and unpredictable – one of the ethereal pillars of the city’s myth and beauty.

Fog season drifts into high summer gear and scientists predict even more fog in the future, fog remains as elusive, yet romantic, as ever.San Francisco poet August Kleinzahler, who has written many poems about the fog, believes the sterling-gray weather is part of what makes San Francisco a city of individualists, where residents burrow in and spend years without getting to know their neighbors.
